Gaddafi, “all my people love me”…

way to hold your ground you crazy bastard!  There’s keeping a positive outlook on life and then there’s complete dillusion!

Lackey:  “Sir, the protesters are gathering momentum.”

Gaddafi:  “What protesters?  Are you mental?  There are no protesters.”

Lackey:  “Um..”

This has all the hallmarks of the time one of Saddam’s top dogs was doing an interview saying there was no invasion, while one of the Allied tanks trundled around the corner behind him.

Maybe we’ve got Gaddafi all wrong.  You know how Western media can occaisionally be a tad biased?  Maybe Gaddafi’s mates have just been shielding him from the truth all this time.  No, really, they all do love you.  I have visions that this situation will end with Gaddafi sitting alone in his bedroom with the realisation slowly creeping across him that the several thousand valentines cards he got this year all have the same handwriting on them, with a single tear running down his face as he asks his one remaining lackey why everyone in the nation writes in the same style as his mum…

One Response to Gaddafi, “all my people love me”…

  1. I have a dear friend from Tripoli who was studying in Scotland a few years ago. He was working for the Central Bank of Libya and was sent to China with some colleagues to learn about the economy and then to Scotland to study English so that he would be better at his job. This was all paid for by the Libyan Government. I can’t imagine David Cameron doing that. I have been told by a number of Libyans that col. Ghadaffi looks after his people, his soldiers training in the desert even have cinemas in their tents. I do think the media is being bias and that he has many, many supporters out there.
