Improvement for the Scottish Job Market

A new survey from the Bank of Scotland shows that the Scottish job market is showing improvement, with all 8 sectors that are monitored showing improvement in both permanent and temporary hirings.

Donald MacRae, chief economist at Bank of Scotland, said:

“Permanent appointments to jobs grew at the fastest rate since December 2009, while temporary staff billings also grew in February. However, we need these improvements to be sustained throughout the year to begin to reduce unemployment.”

This is good news for the Scottish job market only days after it was announced that levels of unemployment in the UK were the worst since 1996.

Tough times out there, but a sign things are picking up across the board.
