Scot’s say “no” to UK time change!

Scot’s have said “no” to a permanent change to our clocks, according to the BBC.  The article is based on the premise that moving our clocks more in sync with our European neighbours would benefit businesses and the economy.

The theory goes that with that extra hour of business time gained each day, UK businesses would do more deals and be a more attractive prospect to European businesses looking for suppliers.  It’s a fair point really, but at the end of the day (pardon the pun) does it really make that much difference?

It isn’t the first time this has been suggested – it’s an idea that’s been toyed with, and even implemented (during the 2nd World War to increase productivity in munitions factories) before, but the common objection comes from North of the border, where, well, we don’t really get that much sunshine!  Farmers rightly point out that changing the clocks the wrong way would mean less working hours and therefore less work for them.

Personally, I’m a night owl anyway so it wouldn’t bother me that much!  How about you?
